Stevens County EMS education provides area business and industry, first responder teams, law enforcement, fire, ambulance services and healthcare providers with basic and advanced level emergency health and safety education programs.

How to Save a Life (TM)

Stevens EMS will provide your business or organization a 1 hour presentation called "How to Save a Life" (TM). This program highlights the important immediate critical steps in an emergency that everyone should know. How to perform immediate first aid, "hands-only" CPR, how to use an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED), and what to do in those first few minutes before the ambulance arrives. Life-saving information for you, your business or your community organization. Certification classes are also available. The program is FREE with purchase and setup of an AED at your location.

CPR, First Aid, ACLS, PALS and CPR in the Schools - Programs are all available and customized to your organizations need.

HealthCare providers, Daycare, and others required to have current certification cards, we are doing BLENDED Learning programs in conjunction with the American Heart Association. Safety Education for Business and Industry

Heartsaver® CPR AED is a course that teaches adult, child and infant CPR and AED use and how to relieve choking. This course combines video, lecture, demonstration and "hands-on" techniques to help students master the skills, knowledge and confidence to perform the skill when needed.

This course is for anyone who needs initial certification or a renewal course to meet personal, job, regulatory, or other requirements. Register here.

Heartsaver® First Aid or General First Aid and safety education classes teach students critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services arrives. Students learn duties and responsibilities of first aid providers; first aid actions for medical emergencies, including severe choking, heart attack, and stroke; skills for handling injury and environmental emergencies, including external bleeding, broken bones, sprains, bites and stings.

This course is for anyone who needs a course completion card in first aid to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements. Register here.

These Business and Industry CPR, AED, First Aid and Safety programs are customized to the needs of your business or industry. We will meet with your safety director or committee and develop a plan for your business and ensure that the hands-on skills taught and information presented will be pertinent to your employees and their needs. Understanding what to do in an emergency, what your emergency action plan includes, how to get help, and what important steps must be taken to help save a life can all be included in a customized program. The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) initial certification course is and advanced in-depth emergency care and transportation program covering all aspects of emergency medical care including scene assessment, safety considerations, anatomy & physiology, patient assessement, managing medical and trauma conditions and injuries, transportation, extrication, rescue and medication administration. The course includes lectures, skills demonstration, practice sessions, moulage simulations, quizes, reading the text and online material review. The program also requires clinical experience as part of the course and final written and practical testing and skills competency upon completion. National and State of Minnesota certification is awarded upon completion of the program and successful completion of written and practical examinations. Register here.

Bloodborne Pathogens review teaches employees how to protect themselves and others from being exposed to blood or blood-containing materials. This course is designed to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements for bloodborne pathogens training when paired with site-specific instruction. Register here.

Stevens EMS Education is an AHA training site for professional rescuer Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and many other professional certification programs for healthcare providers. Intial and renewal classes are offered throughout west central Minnesota and surrounding hospitals, clinics, and ambulance services. A blended course option is also available for each of these programs so that your employees can review the course on-line and complete the written testing all from their place of work or at home. We can then setup skills verification or check-off for completion and issuing of their certification cards. Register here.

Stevens EMS Education has assisted many schools including Rothsay High School juniors and seniors, to develop and implement an AED program and annual education for their teachers and staff. All-school student training has been conducted and many schools througout the Minnesota and surround area by our professional instructors and staff. High school students learning from our team show confidence and skill as evident in a past video here. Small groups or large groups of 100-300 students has been conducted with personal hands-on practice for students. We can bring 20-30 manikins or more if needed along with AED trainers and instructor to meet the instructor-student ratios for competency and learning.
